Silver Lake Kayak Tour & Social

Posted in Categories Activities & Events

Sunny blue skies and welcome warm temperature provided a perfect backdrop for Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation’s Silver Lake Kayak Tour & Social on Saturday, June 5th.  This event was originally scheduled for June 2020, postponed for a year, and well worth the wait!

It was a great day and more than 80 people chose kayaks or pontoon boats for a 45 minute tour around the Silver Lake.  Many thanks to Pontoon Captains, Jim Ketter and Tom Albiero and the many CLCF volunteers who made the kayak tour a huge success

A drawing gave guests the opportunity to win a tour in a vintage 50’s Amphicar, loaned to CLCF for the event by Captain Scott and Sue Meinerz.  Also, three lucky guests won a spark plug sculpture by local artist, Dave Cooley.

Lee Krueger, Washington County Historian,  was on hand to point out areas of historic interest, including a Civil War grave site, located near Silver Lake.
