Earth Day April 22 – Adopt A Tree and learn All About Bees!

Earth Day falls on Sunday, April 22 this year, and CLCF will be hosting two events in which the community can participate.

You are invited to Adopt A Tree and join us from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. in planting red oaks, bitternut hickory, hazelnut, elderberry and fruit trees at Timmer Nature Preserve, west of Hwy NN and north of Timmer Bay Road. To donate seedlings for $2 each and/or volunteer to plant, please CLICK HERE.

All About Bees – Join us upstairs at Bibinger’s Restaurant (3747 Cedar Creek Road) to hear Doug and Tracy Marconnet present a fun and thought-provoking talk covering:

  • Beekeeping basics
  • Bee behavior and biology
  • Honey production
  • Native bees
  • Thoughts about the decline in bees
  • Ideas of how you can help bees

There will even be a honey-tasting to wrap up the program! The cash bar will open at 4:30 p.m., and the presentation will start at 5:30 p.m. The event is free of charge, but please RSVP to askclcf@clcf.info to let us know you’re coming.
